Hi folks, I wanted to let you in on a super video that I just finished watching by Frank Kern. If you don't know who Frank is, he actually wrote most of the copy for the greatest product launch on the web, Stomper net. His video is at http://www.officiallyworkathome.com I really recommend listening to his video it is filled with ways to create a list and is quite funny as well.
He goes over how to set up a list and why you actually need a list. He starts with the fundamentals; 1- Target a market that actually buys, 2-market to folks that want what you are selling, 3- Be sure to provide value and not just hype.
Next he goes over how to choose a market using the standby http://www.clickbank.com/. He then uses Google to find out if the topic has advertisers and makes sure that it just isn't some passing fad.
One basic rule of thumb that he uses is to make sure that folks want what you are trying to sell. He says that nothing happens until the sale is made. What is the market buying now? Where are people advertising to sell material? What has been on the market for a long time? Be sure you don't fall into the age old trap of trying to make it better. If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it.
When you get a list of leads or subscribers, one thing you will be certain of, they won't buy from you the first time. Most of the time if you get a 2 to 3% return off your initial list, you have hit it well. That means that for every hundred folks you mail out to, 2 to 3 will purchase something from you, 97 to 98 won't. yet don't dispair, you still have the list and you can mail them again for another product, or the same product that is shown in another light.
Remember, quality is what counts. If you try to sell garbage, you will get many folks that unsubscribe very quickly. If you, on the other hand give away free reports or other cool stuff to your list, they will respect you. Remember people buy from folks they know and trust, not a slick hyped up sales pitch.
He specifically goes over the mechanics of building a list which is outlined as follows:
1- Get Traffic 2- Send that traffic to a landing page 3- Get them to join your list 4- send them free stuff for joining that list or send them to a sales page where they purchase from you. According to Frank, It is just that simple.
Most folks get hung up on step number one - Get Traffic. Frank says that is easy, there is basically 2 ways to generate traffic; Buy it or have a JV (joint venture) with someone who has a list already. When buying traffic you can use, Adwords, Yahoo Paid Search, Banners, Mail Drops and reputable List Brokers.
I have started a list for this blog and useful tips. I have signed up for a program that offers a bunch of good stuff for marketers: www.thesecretpays.com/scottb I hope that you will take time to see what the program is. I did a bunch of research for this program and it has the most to offer for as little out of pocket that it takes. Remember, everything is not free, if it sounds too good, it probably is. That is from the skeptic that I am.
Well enough of my ranting, remember to check out Frank's free video here is the link again: http://www.officiallyworkathome.com

Advice from a Marketing Pro
I have been reading several emails from mailto:GAllanRoberts@superiorimageusa.com for some time now and it caused me to be curious if he had some answers for this newbie.
The following paragraphs are my "conversation" with him:
I have been reading your emails for some time now and I have a few questions. I am a brand new newbie. I make no bones about it, I guess I have bought over the past year 10 to 15K of stuff. It seems as though everyone has a different idea. Know what I mean? It is kind of like I am a deer sitting in the headlights almost afraid to make a move. I am sure you know the feeling.
I have one question. Is there a way for someone to start marketing on the internet with very little money down? I guess you get this question all the time, however I am not literate with making web pages and I guess I am looking for a way to make a buck but just do not know where to start.
You probably get these type of questions all the time, however I really am interested in your answer. I guess the main reason I am writing this to you, I read your email post about sleeping on the couch and it got me interested. Thanks,
Here is the response:
I know what you going through I have been there too. I have spent over $70k in informational products over the last 2 years. Think of it as in an investment... Once you invest in yourself no one can take that away from you.
"On the far side of complexity is simplicity"
Sometime you have to about things the hard way to figure out the easy way. In last 15 days all the peices of the puzzle have come clear to me and I know how to put the puzzle together. You are experiencing the same thing...
It's going to come together, you just missing pieces of the puzzle. I can help you fill in the blanks.
The best way to get out of "the deer in the headlights" or analysis paralysis, is take action.
"Sloppy success is better then NO success"
Forget about not understanding how to do something everything can be done for you at low cost. YOU need to have the idea... Who are you? What do you want people to know? What is your unique abllity? Focus on your strengths, not your weaknesses.
Here is an Action plan that will create a $15,000 a month income for you in the next 12 months... If you take action.
1. Determine the niche or the direction you want to go... (I can not do this for you)
2. Write articles about your interest. Between 250 - 350 words. Use a simple opening paragraph... and 7 one to two sentence bullet points.
3. Post a Blog (I would create one hosted on your own URL and hosting using ww.wordpress.org see mine http://www.gallanroberts.com/)
4. Post your articles to ezinearticles.com, back link to your opt-in page. (again host plan... I can help)
5. Post daily to your blog and weekly to the article directly.
6. In about 30 days conbine articles into an ebook and a free giveaway. The book is going to have a link to get you paid affilate commissions.
7. Continue step 5. Create your own CD product. (again I can help) sell it FREE, $10, 15 etc.
8. Do this for about a year. Then create a package with all your training CDs as one package or home study course.
STOP...
First, do step 1 then 2. then 3. then so on... Do you see how each action builds on the next?
Do not worry if you do not know... focus on what your do know.
I hoped that helped...
I would enjoy talking with you...
Let's set up a time to talk...
Saturdays are good for me...
2:00 PM EST or 7:00 PM EST (better for you)

Inspiration
Today, I thought about writing another saga regarding my quest to make money online, however when checking my email, I came across a rather unusual post about one person overcoming any obstacles placed in their way. I really recommend that you check out the following Utube video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qTiYA1WiY8
This video made me forget all of the trivial problems and frustrations that build up during our daily schedules. Please enjoy it.

Started An Experiment
Hi again, its Monday and I have spent today researching exactly how others claim to make money on the net. One of the biggest tools that I have found is Adwords and Adsense. These are both advertising advenues for Google. In some of my research I found a marketing letter that I thought was written terribly http://snipurl.com/1xfxs but somehow through all the hype and egotism, it made sense so I decided to give it a try. I put the link in the blog if you want to check it out.
I signed up for a webpage http://snipurl.com/1xg04 $5.00 per month for 3 months and then it goes up to $9.95 per month. I get 3 free domains, hosting of 250GB and numerous other benefits. I know this sounds like a sales pitch, however the one thing that impressed me was the customer service.
I don't know anything about setting up a web-page or hosting one. I called the customer support line for 1and1 and low and behold it was a foreigner who answered and I couldn't understand her. I immediately hung up and called back. This time I got a gentleman named Vincent (He was American, or atleast he had an American accent.) he spent literally hours with me on the phone until my website was set up. http://www.iwantlazywork.com I was really impressed and in fact asked for his supervisor so I could praise his hard work.
Well here is where the fun part comes into play. I am in the process of promoting my site to see if in fact I get visitors. I have signed up for stumble on it and will also get digg it.
Will keep you posted.

Update
Ok, it's me again, I wanted to let other newbies in on what I have done. I heard that you can earn income by using Google Adsense on your webpages. I have just signed up for an account, they said that they would be back in touch with me via emaiol in the next 24 to 48 hours. Once I have the publisher's id, I can then start adding AdSense ads to my webpages and blog post. Will keep everyone up to speed. In case you haven't figured it out yet, I am a very untrusting soul when it comes to claims of making money on the internet. I will however through this blog, let you the reader know exactly how much money I am making and if it works or not.
My First Attempt
Hello, and welcome to my attempt at Blogging. I am a 48 year old man who has heard so much about blogging that I have decided to make a stab at it. I have always heard that everyone wants to have something for nothing so I thought it was appropriate to name the blog, I want lazy work.
I have tried several schemes in the past to make money on the web, however, I guess that I am gullible. I will keep folks posted on my new attempts at this.
Thanks for reading... n2golfin
